Law enforcement and technology: A winning combination

Over past few decades, law enforcement technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, improving the safety of the jobs of law officers, and the efficiency of their operations. It is quite mind-blowing to realize how far law enforcement tech has come from the days of the limited-range walkie-talkie.

Today, video cameras and various software assist authorities in monitoring the streets and keeping them safe for the law-abiding citizen. Radars and sonars have been developed so police and FBI personnel can eavesdrop on conversations happening kilometers away.

Even cybercriminals are not spared as new and more capable software have constantly been developed to track illegal transactions on the internet. All it takes on the side of law enforcement, is training.

Innovators have taken the dash cam in police vehicles a step further and created mini-cameras that can be attached to clothing. Body cameras can now present evidence of crime much more clearly than before.

And speaking of evidence, forensic technology has gotten to the point where a single drop of blood or a single strand of hair can clear or confirm the name of an accused with almost 100 percent accuracy. This new technology has solved crimes from decades past.

Technology promises more efficient methods of law enforcement to make our world a safer place.
